e-Capacity Building
Achieving e-Government Change
Part of the ODPM's larger Capacity Building initiative, the e-Government Capacity Building Programme aims to help local authorities develop and deliver successful, sustainable e-Government projects.
The programme will help councils meet both the short term challenges of local e-Government targets - including BVPI 157 and Priority Outcomes - and the longer term sustainability and Gershon efficiency targets. It will also help organisations plan for and manage the inevitable, and crucial, change that implementing e-government involves.
For those charged with delivering e-Government programmes it will provide you with the tools you need to plan, manage and evaluate e-government projects consistently and accurately. It will help you to reduce the amount of time you spend by distilling the vast amounts of information out there and making it relevant to you. And it will help you to acquire the knowledge, skills and behaviours you need to bring about the change you want.
The programme's outputs will:
- help you to quickly develop compelling business cases to persuade others in your organisation to commit their support and time;
- help you to identify development needs and direct you to key bits of knowledge and standard approaches that will be of use;
- provide you with examples and templates that can save you time and save you from re-inventing the wheel;
- help to make the process of change easier, both for you and your organisation.
